Thrifty Thursday - wait, is it Thursday already?

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

As many of you know, I was out of town this last weekend.  I got in LATE last night (my flight was delayed an hour, and it was a late flight BEFORE the delay).  Obviously Thrifty Thursday didn’t happen this week, like I had hoped.  However, here are a few good links to check out:

  • Kim Wresh has a template collection valued at over $90 for sale on her blog today for $25.  The collection comes with a Professional Use TOU as well. No credit required!  You definitely need to check this out - GREAT templates!  http://www.mrswresh.blogspot.com
  • TrishH Designs is having an anniversary sale - 40% off items in her shop at DigitalCandy
  • Kari Hentzelt is having a 50% off sale today, in honor of her son’s birthday.

The Bloggy Giveaway Winners!!

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Have you ever had one of those weeks? (months?) (years?)  I’m SO far behind because of the latest trip to CA… but I really needed to go and spend time with my sister, so I am refusing to apologize TOO much.  It just is what it is, right?  My sister needed me, and I needed to be with her, and now here we are - a few days later!

So, moving on… did ya’ll have as much fun as I did with the Bloggy Giveaway last week?  I so enjoyed reading all the comments, and I’m excited to announce the TWO winners:

Audra of Audra’s Little Scraps is the winner of Clean And Simple Scrapbooking: Ideas for Design, Photography, Journaling & Typography

and

KJ of eye-dyllic is the winner of Clean and Simple Scrapbooking - The Sequel

Congrats ladies!!  You should have email from me…

And thanks to EVERYONE who visited DigiScrapChat this last week.  I hope you’ll come back again real soon!  I promise to get things back to normal around here just as soon I spend a little more time with my kids, who REALLY missed their Mama!

Going out of town…

Friday, August 1st, 2008

I’m heading out of town tomorrow, going to see my sister and hang out with her on Monday for her fourth chemo treatment, AND to help care for her for a couple days afterwards. I’m flying standby on Southwest, thanks to a really generous friend, and I’m taking the first flight out in the morning (well, Lord willing I get ON the first flight, with the whole standby thing).

I have mixed feelings about going - I’m leaving the kids behind with Hubby (and his Mama who will be a HUGE help, as always). I know they will all be just fine without me, although I expect lil Allan will fuss a little more than normal. He is my shadow these days, so I feel a little bad about leaving for five days. And Martha? Well, she’s just normally a Mama’s girl, so again - five days = more fussiness from her.

On the other hand, I really want (and need?) to see my sister and my parents. I need to give and get a few hugs, and to sit and relax and visit. I want to be there with my sister as she goes through another chemo treatment, and I want to help however I can as she goes through the after-effects.

I also would be lying if I said I’m not looking forward to sleeping through the night for a few nights in a row with no interuptions, and maybe taking a nap or two during the afternoons. And seeing a movie, and getting a nice dinner out on Sunday night before chemo. Oh, and going to Leatherbys for ice cream. Yeah, it won’t be ALL bad.

So, that’s what’s coming for me over the next few days. I’m setting up the blog to have a few scheduled posts so there will still be something happening around here, and I’ll be announcing the winner of my Bloggy Giveaway sometime this weekend when I take time to get online at my folks’ house. (There is still a little time left to post a comment and be entered into the giveaway!)

Ya’ll have a great few days, and I’ll see you again next week for Thrifty Thursday! Feel free to comment on my scheduled blog posts between now and then, and as always - happy scrappin’!

A few days off…

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

I’ve been keeping a lot of plates spinning lately, and I can tell I’m about ready to drop a few, so with that in mind, I’m going to take a few days off from blogging.  If I can muster it, I’ll have the regular Thrifty Thursday post tomorrow, but other than that, I’ll be absentee for a bit.  (Unless of course I think of something I just NEED to tell you).

Thanks for your patience and understanding.  If you are a regular reader and are interested in guest posting for DigiScrapChat, please feel free to send me an email so we can chat about it.  I have a feeling the spinning plates syndrome isn’t going away anytime soon.
