One of those weeks…

Well, it was bound to happen… things have been going so well on the “keeping it all together, and getting it ALL done” front… and then all of a sudden I was NOT keeping it all together, OR getting it all done.

In fact, as I type this tonight, my living room is a disaster (of toys), the boy’s room is an accident waiting to happen (picture Lincoln Logs covering 98% of their floor), the kitchen is full of dirty dishes, and I have piles of laundry in every basket in the house. Unclean piles of laundry.

In case you don’t believe it’s “that” bad…

My four year old ran out of underwear today. He tried to find some in his big brother’s drawer. That drawer was empty too. So… he headed to DADDY’S drawer… and much laughter and hilarity ensued among the children, as he wore the underwear pulled up to his SHOULDERS. (Too bad Daddy wasn’t here to see… although he might not have appreciated the funny-ness of the situation as much as the kids did).

At least they’re having a good time!

Anyway… all that to say this… I know I haven’t blogged in a few days. I know I missed Thrifty Thursday this week. I have several email from folks who are probably disappointed that their ad didn’t show up here. And for that, I’m sorry. If you are one of those people who sent me an email and now feel ignored, I apologize.

I plan to start fresh, with regular blogging tomorrow…

Right after I wash ten loads of laundry, do two loads of dishes, and pick up about a million Lincoln Logs.

So, a LONG, LONG time ago, I signed up for a kaboodle account. I thought it would be a great way to share a shopping wish-list with a few special folks so they’d know what to get me if/when birthday or holidays rolled around.

I am so NOT a shopper (generally speaking), but I did want to set up a Digi Scrap Wish List, because… well, there is just not enough money in the world my bank account to get all the digi-scrap stuff I want! (Ok, that’s a little extreme… I kid… kinda).

Of course I signed up, and then got busy, and I think I sent my Digi Scrap Wish List link to one person. And that mystery person (*cough*Allan*cough*) never did one single thing with it. (He DID however purchase a few awesome digi-scrap gift certificates for me one year for my birthday, and he DID buy me a 750 gig hard drive, so I guess he gets a pass).

ANYWAY… all that to say… I think I’m going to be adding to my Kaboodle list again. My birthday is coming up in a couple of months (gasp, already?), and it might be nice to have a wish list to send to anyone who might ask. (You know, all three people who might ask).

And, I think YOU should sign up for Kaboodle too! Because, even though I keep talking about the wish list tool, it’s really so much more than that. (See above).

The bottom line is, if YOU sign up for a list and let me know about it, I can surf through YOUR list and find items *I* might want! (Ok, back to ME again… how did that happen?)

Gratituesday… what SHE said…kinda

So… what I want to know is… HOW did Laura know I was going to write about my new laptop?

Ok, she probably didn’t know… but isn’t it funny that my Gratituesday post is identical to hers? (Well, it’s not slap your knee funny… but kinda mini-chuckle funny…maybe…kinda).

ANYWAY… Laura has HER reasons for being thankful for HER new laptop, and I echo all her reasons!

Well, except for the “blogging upstairs” reason – we don’t have an upstairs.

And I guess I can’t really echo the “blogging outside” reason – there is NO WAY I’ll be blogging outside anytime in the near future. Blogging in 110 degree heat is not a preferable method of blogging for me personally.

You know, I guess I can’t really echo the whole “Matt and I can work at the same time” reason, since Matt working on his computer doesn’t really affect ME.

So… other than THOSE three reasons, I echo her gratitude for her new laptop.

My kids are pretty grateful too. I haven’t let them touch my PC for ages, since I use it for work and if anything happens to it, I’m sunk. We all know how good computer games are for computers (NOT), and since my kids just want to play computer games, the PC has been off limits.

But, with the new laptop, I’m allowing a few games (of my choosing)… which makes everyone SO happy.

I’m also REALLY thankful for my new laptop because it’s going to make my new job a lot easier. (And I’ll discuss THIS topic another time in the near future).

AND, I downloaded the latest version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 7
the other night… and I’m SO happy to have a good working version that doesn’t crash on me or take fifty million years to load a file. (And by fifty million years, I mean 5-6 minutes… but I was going for hyperbole there).

The latest version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 will come in handy for my new job (again, will discuss this another time), which just happens to be Digi Scrap related!

So… those are my reasons for being SO thankful for my new laptop. If I were 100% honest, I’d also mention that it makes playing Farkle on Facebook a LOT easier and more fun now. But, I wouldn’t want anyone to know how truly addicted to Farkle I am…
