Gratituesday…
If you didn’t know it already, I write blog posts on two separate blogs, here and bellajoy.com. (Well, I technically have a few more blogs than just two, but I only publically share two. And yes, Mom and Mom-in-Law, I need to update the FAMILY blog sometime before the children are all grown - it’s on my list, I promise).
What was I talking about? Oh yes, my two blogs. Well, each week I sit down to write a Gratituesday post, and I always give a little thought to which blog I should post to (or, to which blog I should post, if I want to be gramatically correct). (Because heaven knows, I do)! (I was an English major in college, after all)!
Um, did I just veer off on a tangent twice? You’d think I couldn’t concentrate tonight. What IS my problem?
Oh, I know…
I’M GOING ON A TRIP! I’m leaving on a vacation! I’m getting on an airplane and getting outta this here town. It’s a break! A retreat! Some time away, for myself (well, almost myself - I’m taking my six year old with me).
Yes, I’m a tiny, tiny bit excited to be heading to Nebraska this weekend. I’m taking Samuel, and we are going to see my brother Ken and sister-in-law Sarah, and their THREE kids! Last year, there were just two kids to see, but Sarah had a baby in April, and we get to go see him (and the rest of them too, of course).
AND we get to spend the nights at our bestest friends’ house (cause Mema and Papa (my parents) are already taking up space at Ken and Sarah’s house) (and we like to stay at Matt and Laura’s house because she is the best hostess ever and she cooks really, really yummy food) (and a sleepover for THREE nights in a ROW at your bestest friend’s house is just SO much fun) (and btw, I think Samuel is excited too)!
So, in case you didn’t notice - today, I’m thankful for my upcoming trip.
I’m thankful we had a little extra money to afford the plane tickets.
I’m thankful that I get to see my new nephew while he’s still a tiny baby.
I’m thankful for awesome friends, and for a chance to sit and yak (really fast, cause that’s what we do) with Laura, IN PERSON, for THREE nights in a ROW!
I’m thankful that I have the BEST husband in the world, who didn’t hardly bat an eye when I told him I really, really, really wanted to get on an airplane with Samuel and fly away for a few days.
I’m thankful that he is a confident, involved, wonderful father who can manage with the other two kids easily, AND that he has a wonderful Mama who doesn’t mind coming over and helping him manage the other kids while I’m gone.
Yep, I’m mighty thankful… AND excited!
In case you couldn’t tell…
So, what are YOU thankful for today? Write a post and head over to Laura’s blog to link us up… or just post a comment here or there! Share the gratitude folks… I promise it will make you feel good!
