  3. My birthday falls at the end of January, about a month after Christmas, 3 days before our anniversary, and 2 weeks before Valentine’s Day. So sometimes my birthday gets lost in the string of celebrations!

I think my favorite birthday memory was when my DH threw a surprise party for me. I totally knew what was going on, but it was really, really cute of him to try to sneak the details past me. He’s not a very good sneaky guy, which is fine with me. :)

Thanks for organizing this – you have yourself a good birthday now, OK?

  5. I had a fantastic surprise this year for my 40th! My DH bought tickets to see Madonna’s show at the Amsterdam Arena and told my girls and no one told me! He arranged for the girls to go on an overnight too!!! Then, at a small dinner for my friends, he surprised me with a new laptop (Sony Vaio)!!! So this year, he totally had me going, I didn’t know a thing til the end, and the girls cooperated!!!

  6. Yeah! 31 days what fun!!!!! October B-days are the best- Mine’s Oct too!!! My bestest B-day gift was probably when I got Mulan a few years ago- I know it’s a kids movie but its one of my all time faves and I hadn’t told anyone that I wanted it but my sweet mom who knows me so well bought it for me (aren’t moms awesome!) I must say however if I was to get gift like tara’s in comment #1 it would quickly become my new favorite.

  8. For my 30th birthday, my husband rented me a convertible mustang as a surprise and had a bunch of friends over for a surprise dinner. I had been snooping around, so I found out about the car, but the party was a surprise! =)

    haven’t scrapped it yet…I’m a tad behind…it was ONLY 4 years ago!

  9. My birthday in April frequently falls on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, or Holy Saturday (but only on Easter Day the day I was born) and for years, while doing the Holy week church services with the cathedral choir, we had to be quiet and somber, no celebrating. Even after the dark services, who felt like a party? Maybe this isn’t a GOOD memory but it is kind of funny to me… :>)))

  10. Hmm, favorite? Not really but definitely memorable. I was 19, dating a gorgeous guy and my mother bought me a gift. She had me open in front of my boyfriend. My mother always kept all kinds of boxes to use in order to pack things. I ended up opening a present that had a box of Kotex and inside that box of Kotex was underwear! Talk about embarrassing!!! Funny now, but not then :-) Happy Birthday ladies!

  13. Well, if this isn’t the most fun blog I’ve read all day!!! I wanna win an Amazon gift card! My favorite birthday gift? Well, this year on my birthday Matt and the boys gave me a piece of paper and asked me to make a “Honey Do List” for them. THAT was a great gift!

Thanks for the fun giveaways this month!

  14. Wow, what a great idea. My birthday always fell during Christmas holidays so I never had parties with friends and often got a Christmas and birthday present combined. I think my favorite birthday memory is from a few years ago when my sister was home for Christmas and we went to a crop on my birthday both sisters, my Mom and myself. The guys stayed home with all the kids and us ladies visited and crafted it was great. I don’t think I have scrapped it yet but I think I will go do that.

  16. Happy Birthday to you both! Thanks so much for the chance to win this. Hmmm, bday memory….when I was little, I got sent to my room during my party because I was upset that I didn’t get a little bag of goodies like everyone else, lol. I guess I didn’t think all those presents was enough…hahaha!

  21. My favorite bday memory – that’s hard. I’ll say one of my favs was my 30th. My now fiance (boyfriend of about a year then) organized a “party” for me at one of our favorite restuarants. Most of his family was there and he even sneaked and called my ex-sis in law (whom I had been very close with, but lost tough after the divorce) and she came with her hubby and kids! No, I haven’t scrapped it becuase not one of them remembered to bring a camera! ugg! And it was a surprise, so I didn’t know to bring mine.

Awesome site (I just found you from Sarah Meyer’s blog!)

    And happy bday to you!
    Hugs, Tif

  24. I would say my favorite birthday was my 60th. I am usually very good at detecting when something is up but for this one I had no idea at all. Unbeknown to me one of my kids arranged for all my children to be with me o this special day. This was not an easy task as 2 live over 1500 miles away. But they pulled it off and when I walked into my son’s house they all were there along with my very special friends.

Needless to say I just about fell over. The party was so much fun – the gifts were small gifts that depicted my favorite things to do and see. Also my son had sneaked some photos of me when I was young and had my high school grad photo along with a couple of others enlarged to life size! There I was in all my glory dressed in my white net grad dress. It is hanging in our basement now!

All this took place ten years ago but the memory remains forever in my heart.
