It’s My Birthday! Can I get a WOOHOO?!

Today is my birthday… aren’t you excited?!! (You should be – it’s a BIRTHDAY BONANZA around here!). And it’s DAY FOUR of 31 Days of Giveaways!
Quite honestly, I’m not really sure why I’m making such a big deal of my birthday this year. It’s not a “milestone” birthday or anything – just a regular ole birthday in the middle of my 30’s. (And yes, 36 is still considered mid thirties… don’t let anyone tell you any different!)
Maybe it’s because our family has had such a rough summer. Lots of drama and sadness and fear and anxiety… I NEED a reason to be happy… and to have a celebration. So… my birthday it is!
I gave a lot of thought to TODAY’S GIVEAWAY since it’s my actual birth-day, and in the spirit of making you all cooperate, I came up with a fun idea.. AND what I hope is an awesome prize! (And if you think it is so NOT fun, please don’t tell me, ok? Humor me, it’s my BIRTHDAY!) (Did I mention that it’s my birthday? Yes? Ok, then… moving on).
First – the prize…
How does $36 dollars in COLD HARD CASH sound? Yes, I’m giving away $36 dollars – one for every year of my life – to ONE lucky winner! (And I lied a little – it will actually be a paypal transfer, so it probably won’t be very cold… or hard. But it WILL be CASH).
And how can you enter to WIN this cash?
It’s simple really… since this is a digi-scrap blog, and we talk a lot about photos and memories around here, I want to see PICTURES! Baby pictures, kid pictures, teen pictures… I don’t care how old you are IN the picture, but I want to see pictures of YOU. I’d prefer that they be baby or kid pics, just cause that sounds more fun, but if you have NO pictures of yourself as a baby/child/teenager, you can show me a pic of you now.
So.. dig out a pic or two of you, upload them somewhere, and then put a link in the comments. Tell us a little bit about the picture (or not), and you are officially entered to win the COLD HARD (paypal) CASH! I’ll pick ONE WINNER on the 31st (so, yes… you have plenty of time to get your picture(s) together) and close out our 31 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS with a bang!

Wanna see my beautiful self at 16? I think these were taken a month before I turned 17 – right about the time I started my senior year. You know… like over HALF my life ago!! I’m fairly certain I’ll never look THIS good again… (ok, posting the pictures before I get super sad and depressed over how NOT YOUNG I have become). (Plus, Samuel just looked at these pictures and said, “That’s YOU, Mom…when you were skinny.” Then he patted my arm, and said, “Now… you’re not”. LOVELY!)

Happy Birthday to You!!! =) Well, I’m giving this a shot…I can’t find the pic I had in mind to post (of course) and I have a million of my daughter…but it has to be me…(groan). So, this is the best I can find–it’s my 1st Birthday (keeping in the spirit of birthdays) and my Mom made me a bunny cake. I did NOT like the sticky feeling of frosting and I still hate sticky fingers to this day! =)
Oh, and I think our Moms must have shopped together because I totally did latch hook rugs and the paint by numbers!!! LOL
I did a “then and now” post and then you can scroll down and see a few pages I’ve done and at the bottom is a “My Slide” of my daughter…now 3! =)

Firstly, a BIG Happy Birthday wish to you
I really enjoyed looking at your ‘blast from the past’ pics as they brought back so many memories. I think the main thing I noticed was that all the b/day presents were fairly educational in nature, and not hugely expensive like many of those today. And didn’t we LOVE them – something to make or do for days/weeks afterwards!
Thank you again for posting these so I can enjoy my own trip down memory lane, to days where we made our own entertainment and had lots of innocent childhood fun without any peer pressure to grow up too soon or be ‘cool’. Jeez I’m getting old

Happy Birthday! And you are 36 years young. That’s a full 10 younger than me and I’m still going strong. Anyway, I don’t have any pictures of me when I’m young. My parents still have them all. I do have a couple of dance pictures from high school and I did a page for a challenge a couple of weeks ago. So here’s me and my boyfriend at the time at the Sadio Hawkins dance. A very big HB to you dear!!!! I once told my mother that at 25 you were at the top of the hill, at 50, the bottom of the hill, at 75, the top of the second hill, etc. At 26 she called me and asked me how does it feel to be over the hill? Then again at 27 and then again at 28. You can bet I don’t believe that anymore!
I also did paint by number and latch hook. I recently bought a latch hook for my dd. lol!
