The Last Day of School…

So, my oldest son finished first grade a couple of days ago.  We celebrated by getting lunch at Wendy’s and by going to Chuck E Cheese for dinner with a few others families.  I managed to the keep the Chuck E Cheese party a secret up until about ten minutes before we left, even WITH lil Allan knowing about it.  I discovered that lil Allan is a pretty good secret-keeper, especially since he’s only four.  That’s good info to have, I think!

Anyway, I have started a tradition (two whole years in a row now) of taking “first day/last day” pictures.  I thought I’d share those with you, just for fun.  Eventually I may even think about scrappin’ these pictures, but I’ll probably wait until AFTER I scrap LAST year’s first day/last day pictures! (Yes, I’m a little behind in the scrappin’ projects!)

Here is Samuel on the FIRST day of school, back in August 08:

And here is Samuel on Thursday, the LAST day of 1st grade:

If you can’t tell, he is trying to “model” for me… or as he explained, “Mom, I’m going to STRIKE A POSE”.

Apparently 1st Grade has matured him quite a bit….

What?  You thought they’d be SERIOUS pictures?  Oh, ok… here are a couple of those kind:

Last Day of School:

I really just can’t believe I’m the mother of a SECOND GRADER already.

So, what about your family?  Do you have any special first day/last day traditions?  Are you way behind on scrappin’ some of those traditions?  (Please say yes, so I’ll feel better).
